Software Nomenclature

In office software, there have usually four functions:
(1) Word processing,
(2) Spreadsheet,
(3) Database, and
(4) Presentation

In the market, the most popular one is Microsoft Office,
who has:
(1) Word,
(2) Excel,
(3) Access, and
(4) PowerPoint

However, Sun Microsystem developed a cheaper system, the OpenOffice, which has:
(1) Writer,
(2) Calc,
(3) Base, and
(4) Impress

Definition of Terms

(1) What is "Business"?
A business is a human acitivity for social interation. It can be either profitable or non-profitable.
(2) What is "Software"?
Software are computer programs in packages for business applications.
(3) What is "Business Software Applications"?
There for in this subject, BSA, we will look at various software, and see how they can apply to different businesses.

Introduction

Hi, I am a computer lecturer at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Vocational Training Council (VTC, http://www.vtc.edu.hk).
